Lori Smart, President and Founder of Smart Assistive
Technologies, has successfully provided Assistive Technology solutions
to the New Hampshire Department of Education, K-12 schools, universities
and private corporations for over a decade. She developed the
company with a mission to expand education and access to technology
for people with disabilities and those with limited job skills.
She holds a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology from Daniel
Webster College and an Assistive Technology Certificate from California
State University's Center on Disabilities, ATACP program.
Laurie McIntosh, MS, OTR/L has provided occupational
therapy services including evaluation, consultation, and treatment
of students pre-school through high school since 1994. In 2004,
Mrs. McIntosh developed the Assistive Technology Lab at the University
of New Hampshire installing adaptive equipment and conducting
training. Mrs. McIntosh holds a Master of Science in Occupational
Therapy from the University of New Hampshire.
Dave Smart, Director of Sales and Certified Aging
in Place Specialist, he has a proven track record in Leadership
and Management. He is deliberate to make certain that Smart Assistive
Technologies delivers the highest quality services, keeping with
our mission to help consumers make educated choices on products
and services.
Christina Dame, Assistant Trainer, she has over
10 years experience in office management and Microsoft applications.
Christina assists with training on Microsoft products and administrative
skills increasing access to employment for individuals with limited
job experience.
The
Team of Robert & Doris Gates are the newest members
of our staff. We are proud to have this husband and wife team
representing our company. As Product Specialists, they deliver
valuable information on low vision technology and home access
solutions. Robert Gates is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist,
Master Carpenter and Professional Trainer having delivered technical
training for several years in the military. Both are highly active
in our community serving as members of the Rochester Zoning Board
and Chamber of Commerce. In addition, they have developed a successful
ministry that serves active duty military men and women stationed
abroad. Rob and Doris are two of the happiest, fun-loving people
you’ll ever meet!
Katherine Howell, Receptionist, is happy to answer
your calls and greet you when you visit our facility. Kathy is
a user of assistive technology skilled in screen reading software,
note takers for the blind and Braille translation software. She
will gladly demonstrate how programs and devices benefit people
who are blind or low vision.
Abigail
Rooney, Bookkeeper, she may occasionally answer your
call, but is usually busy at what she does best…punching
numbers. We’re glad someone loves this job!
